Nintendo's first console - the Color TV-Game 6 in white (model number CTG-6S), released in Japan in 1977, and capable of playing a whopping six slight variations of Pong.

This unit had its skull bashed in at some point :( the plastic around the player 1 controller is badly damaged and the controller barely attached. Would be a good opportunity for a creative repair. Some of the original plastic pieces are still rattling around inside.

Requires 6 "C" batteries (not included). Unlike the later orange CTG-6V, there is no option to use an external power adapter.

Also includes the original RF switch used to connect it to a period-correct Japanese TV, not that this is particularly useful nowadays.

Please note
that the only output from this console is an NTSC-J RF signal on Japanese channels 1 or 2. If you plan to plug this into an American TV, VCR, capture device, DVD recorder, NTSC demodulator, etc., make sure it can tune to CATV (analog cable TV) channel 95 (aka X and A-5) or 96 (aka Y and A-4).

If you don't have such a device, I've had some success with the "RF to HDMI Analog TV receiver" available from Chinese sellers for $28, but they have a rather obtuse menu system so can be frustrating to use on a regular basis. You may have a better experience using an old VCR designed for cable TV to convert the signal to composite or S-Video, and another adapter to convert this to HDMI if you need it.

NTSC-J signals are slightly brighter than North American NTSC signals, so turn down the brightness a little for the best results if using an American TV.
