1964 Italian entry to The Eurovision Song Contest. The 9th edition of Eurovision, held in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Sixteen countries participated in the contest, with Portugal making their debut and Sweden not entering this time. The winner was Italy with the song "Non Ho L'Eta' Per Amarti", performed by Gigliola Cinquetti. It reached UK No.17 on the singles chart and was a significant hit across Europe. Gigliola became the youngest winner of the contest yet; a record she held until 1986. The entry had one of the widest margins of victory ever witnessed in the competition. It garnered almost three times as many points as the second-placed song, the UK entry, "I Love The Little Things", written by Tony Hatch and sung by Matt Monro. Monro released an English version of the Austrian entry, "Warum Nur, Warem?", as "Walk Away" which reached UK No.4/US No.23.
