Ontario Knife Company Spec Plus SP-15 LSA. Model number 8686. In near mint condition id give it a 9 out of 10. I replaced the original sheath with an OKC trench knife sheath. Ontario Knife Company had been sold and the factory closed down. There will not be anymore of these or any other USA made Ontario Knives. The brand was sold to Blue Ridge Knives of Virgina and it does not appear that they will continue on American made blades or if they will even continue the brand. They bought all of the company's assets and sold everything. This is saddening news as Ontario was one of Americas oldest knife manufacturers and made the majority of the United States Militaries knives and bayonets.

So with that being said this is a rare opportunity to own one of their leanest and meanest fixed blades from the Spec Plus lineup. The SP-15 LSA Land Sea & Air. This knife was designed with military and survival applications in mind. I purchased this knife new in 2016. I have lost the box unfortunately. It was proudly manufactured at the shuttered factory in Franklinville, NY and it is a full tang knife made from 1095 high carbon steel and features a black epoxy powder coated double edge spear point blade with serrations on one side and plain edge on the other. It is 11.5 inches overall with a 6.5 inch blade and a 5.25 inch Kraton handle with a steel crusher pommel that has a lanyard hole in it. The blade is 1.10 inch wide and .19 inch thick with a flat grind. Handle width is 1 inch across and .80 inch thick. Weight is 8.46 oz. Fits nicely in an American made leather OKC Trench Knife sheath with belt loop, embossed button snap closure and leather tie downs, which is major upgrade from the original nylon sheath that I no longer have. Knife is in very excellent to near mint condition. Original factory edge never used to cut anything just collected. Does have some very minor wear from handling with most of it on the pommel.(See pics) The blade is minty, the grind is excellent and the handle is as well. See pictures for details as they are part of the description. Very sharp and pointy. Handles nicely with the balance point about a half inch below the guard.

This is an excellent knife and Ontario made very tough hard use knives that can be relied on. It's a shame to see the company possibly go away. They are legendary in the knife world producing some of the most iconic military and civilian knives this country ever produced. The prices are only going to go up. This knife is legendary and becoming seriously hard to find as it was very popular and they don't last long in here so get it while you can.
