This is a new Uctkam 2.5 cc engine which has been converted to diesel by the seller and test run briefly. It is a powerful racing engine, and is very much a Russian copy of the Italian Rossi-15. It features Schneurle porting and a twin ball-race supported crankshaft. It comes complete with the original tuned pipe and needle-nosed spinner. The new cylinder head contains a cast iron sleeve with a precision-fitted steel contra-piston. The intake venturi is new, and is optimized for diesel operation. All of the diesel conversion parts have been manufactured by the seller using Hardinge super-precision machinery.
The original (glow) cylinder head and original venturi are included in the sale to enable running on glow fuel, if required. A spare propeller nut and washer are also provided to enable running without the streamlined spinner. The original polystyrene foam box is included.
The engine has been bench tested by the seller using an 8" x 5" propeller and D-1000 fuel. It runs smoothly at high revs with good response to the compression setting.
