This listing is for a very collectable IXO 1/43 scale Renault Sport World Rally Team set, featuring the Saviem Rally Support Van and Trailer, together with a Renault R5 Turbo Rally Car, all in the striking vintage Renault Sport livery.

Hard to find even in France, this fabulous set captures possibly the greatest era of World rallying, as the Group 4 cars took on the new Group B monsters, such as the Audi Sport Quattro. 

Developed as a response to the Lancia Stratos, in the hands of Jean Ragnotti, the iconic R5 Turbo won the Monte Carlo Rally at its' first attempt.  Not bad for a 1.4 litre 4 cylinder with only 160 bhp!

Whilst it was normally found kicking up gravel around Monte Carlo, Portugal or Spain, I fondly remember this screaming up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and meeting the man himself, Jean Ragnotti.  What a nice chap he was too!

I bought this model from a specialist auction, I got a good deal for such a rare item, so I'm happy to pass it on - please see photos for condition as this is the actual item you will receive.

The models themselves are in very good condition.  They sit in a flimsy plastic tray with a 'felt' lining.  Normally these have numerous 'bare patches' and split terribly.  This one is in good condition with only minimal splits under the wheels of the van and car (only visible from the back).  There are no splits in the clear top, which has not turned yellow as some do.

The cardboard box has been subject to a little moisture at some point, most noticeable on the inside.  Please see the right side of picture 20 (slight discolouration), and picture 21.  I'm a perfectionist, and I would certainly be happy to have this rare set in my collection.  Please see the photos for condition.

Postage is charged at cost only with no charge for packing or materials.

Please note, the GSP does not support combined shipping - add all items to the basket then pay in one go, that way only one order number and one tracking number will be produced - poor ebay gets confused otherwise!
