This figurine 3142, “Mary Queen of Scots” was sculped by Pauline Parsons in 1889 and is a limited edition of 5000 and this is number 4731 as shown on authentication certificate.  It was Pauline Parsons who was asked by a director at Royal Doulton to create a “Queen of the Realms” to include Victoria and three others,Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Anne and Mary Queen of Scots. She successfully created the four portraits from paintings and drawings of the times and from inputs from other artists. The result is four colourful figurines as they would have dressed in their time as queen.

Mary was the son of James V of Scotland and was educated in France from an early age so spoke French. She was beheaded at Fotheringhay in 1587 at the age of 44.
