This is an original and a rare vintage art poster promoting sixteen art exhibitions organised by the city of Marseille, France, from November 1982 until February 1983. 

Poster illustration is a detail from a famous Claude-Joseph VERNET’s painting titled “L'Intérieur du port de Marseille, vu du pavillon de l'horloge du parc”. Many details make this painting one of the most interesting and informative documents on the life of a port in the mid-18th century.

Claude-Joseph VERNET (1714-1789) was a French painter. He became the leading French landscape painter of his time.

Condition of the poster: The poster is in good condition for its age except two former light traces of folding on the bottom part, and tiny part of the left edge is lightly crumpled.
