First World War Photographic Postcard Studio Portrait of a Medic of the Royal Medical Corps (RAMC) and his Family

A fantastic and poignant, genuine black and white photographic studio family portrait dating from the period of the First World War of a medic of the Royal Medical Corps (RAMC)

This is a great picture and the proficiency badge identifies his being in the Royal Medical Corps, and the tunic buttons are of the General Service pattern.

He wears the single stripe of a lance corporal, the standard issue puttees and a 1904 pattern buckle on a leather belt.

Unfortunately there is no identifying information for the young family or the Photographic studio.

The postcard is matt finished and it measures 8.6cm x 13.4cm.

The photograph is in good condition considering that it is over 106 years old - There is "blunting" to the corners and has good edges, no creasing and only handling marks and commensurate with its age. Please refer to the photo scans that form a part of the overall description - there is absolutely nothing to spoil the main picture area.

This really is a superb example of a photographic postcard of the period and with the added poignancy that such photographs have today, over a century since the end of the First World War. Many of the individuals took advantage of the medium to send messages or pictures back home to their loved ones - Such items would grace any collection of the Great War or Army memorabilia.

Please take a look at the other examples of WW1 period postcards that I am selling - Others will be added as I scan and research them...
