This is the Great American Baseball Box from 2005, featuring 117 tracks on 4 CD's.

I did a lot of research on this item because I really was not sure what it was.

So what I have found out is the box that contains the belongings is padded to look like a base from a baseball field first, second or third; that is, it is padded and it is to look dirty to give it the impression of a used baseball base.

Because although it is vinyl, it does not clean up nor do new ones come pristinely white.

Additionally, contained in the box is a flip calendar but it is not a calendar, but has different articles on it, as to baseball over its vast history.

The CDs have on them, as the manufacturer states:

"These are etched into the memories of so many, from the '30's (Yankees win fourth straight World Series) to 2004 ("The Curse" is over!). This 4-CD set-whose box looks like a slightly scuffed base-covers all the bases with original broadcasts (the above plus the "Shot Heard 'Round the World"; Willie Mays' "The Catch"; the homers of Mazeroski, Gibson and Bucky Dent); player remembrances (Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, Pete Rose); a CD of comedy, commercials and controversy, and one with baseball songs by Dylan, Fogerty, Nat King Cole, Count Basie a home run!".

WHICH MAKES IT A UNIQUE ITEM THAT I DON'T THINK EVER GOT PROPERLY MARKETED.
