About the Book

A delightful mid-Victorian set of prayer books, each printed in black and red. The first book containing The Book of Common Prayer, and Hymns Ancient and Modern (the latter published by William Clowes), and the second book containing Proper Lessons which includes the New Testament.

Condition

The books are in lovely condition, there is a little light wear to the gilding to the page edges, and some very slight wear to the front hinge of the Common Prayer but both remain in very clean condition, with secure inner binding. The case is a little scuffed, the latch works but the handle is weak to the right hand end. Overall, a beautiful set.
