Yamaha R1 4XV Blue registered Feb 1998.

Sold as spares repairs / project due to not having an MOT and needing some TLC. It starts and engine runs fine.

43,674 miles, FSH including hand book, receipts, last serviced 200 miles ago including K&N air filter.

I’ve owned the bike 8 years and restore bits here and there.

Reason for sale is expanding family and house renovations means I don’t get any time so I’m regrettably letting it go.

The bike started up on first push of the button following winter hibernation.

The indicators and switch were removed a while back, I did intend to put them back on (these will come with the bike) and get an mot but I don’t have the time unfortunately.

Last MOT it went through with no advisories, have all the old MOT’s to back up mileage and service history.

Upgrades and maintenance:

New battery May 2024.

Braided Goodridge brake lines front and back.

Front forks serviced & Ktec springs fitted by Hel Performance Nov 2019.

Michelin Power Piolet 2 CT’s front and back (seen one track day at Donnington)

Tinted double bubble screen.

New choke cable and carbs cleaned June 2018.

Rebuilt front and rear brake callipers, fitted new Brembo pads & new rear master cylinder Feb 2017.

New voltage regulator June 2016.

Comes with 2 keys + 1 for petrol tank.

Only ever run on Shell V—Power fuel.

Bad bits: (being as honest as possible so you know what to expect)

26-year-old shiny bike but not in perfect condition… scuffs, marks and cracks on most of the fairings.

Temp sensor not working.

Rust on tank where seat fits.

Indicators and switch not fitted.

Prior cat c insurance claim in 2005.

I’m mechanically sympathetic owner, I mainly ride leisurely on a sunny Sunday, however I did one track day at Donnington; I was the slowest rider in the slow group and the bike performed spot on.

Most of the bike has standard equipment if you are looking to restore to its former glory – it will be a decent bike with a little time and effort; especially having all its service history and MOT’s.

I have it advertised elsewhere, located Exeter, Devon (close to Junction 30 of the M5)

Probably best to come and see what you are getting, I will need proof of insurance before I let you take it out. No test pilots or tyre kickers please.

Any questions please ask.

Many thanks.
