Interesting sterling silver hip flask with a military related engraving. The flask is engraved with the initials "S.F.F." and "49TH FOOT" which I believe relates to the 49th (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) (Hertfordshire) Regiment of Foot which was a line infantry regiment of the British Army, first raised in 1743.
The flask also bears the following later engraved inscription:
"Joyce to Stewart on our wedding day 27th Nov. 1941"
Weight: 130.3 gm. Dimensions: 116 mm x 90 mm x 12 mm. Hall Mark: Sheffield (possibly 1901 (rubbed)). Maker's Mark: G & JW Hawksley.
