This is a beautiful vintage Waterman’s black hard rubber, slip-cap eyedropper-filler fountain pen featuring an 18k gold-filled Art Nouveau trefoil vine pattern filigree overlay with a Waterman’s Ideal New York nib. A graceful scrolled monogram “FG” is engraved on the barrel. Stamped “CLIP-CAP PAT SEP. 26, 05”, and the “IDEAL”sphere logo mark “18K FILLED” on the pocket clip. Marked “WATERMAN’s IDEAL FOUNTAIN PEN” on the barrel filigree band. The cap is domed. This pen can be dated to the early 1900’s. Measures 5 5/16” long or 13.50 cm. Very good antique used condition - no dings, no dents, no scratches, no wear (no brass showing through), some very light surface scuffing commensurate with age and use, nib seems slightly scratchy.
