Vietri, Ceramics, Large Charger of historical interest, very probably made and painted by potter/ artist Irene Kowaliska in the early 1930's, when she was given her own studio at "Industria Ceramiche Artistiche Meridionali" (ICAM), established at Vietri by Vincenzo Pinto. Pinto had worked closely with the German artists of the "ICS" group such as Richard Dölker since they arrived in Vietri, taking advantage of commercial opportunities from their international connections. By 1932, however, Pinto he had handed over daily management of his workshop to a manager and was evidently contemplating retirement. At that time Irene Kowaliska would confide to her diary, "Dear Don Vincenzo gave me a place where I could work in complete freedom".
