An original antique 1902 John Bartholomew map of the Chinese Empire and Japan.

This rare print measures approximately 36 x 46cm. Small tear on the bottom right edge which is approximately 1cm and does not affect the actual print. Wear and tear commensurate with age.

Provenance: “The Citizen's Atlas of the World"; Edited by J.G. Bartholomew, Published by George Newnes, Ltd., London, 1902

This is an authentic historic map, published at the date stated above. It is not a modern copy.

Sorry the frame isn’t included. Will be sent folded as originally distributed.

Many thanks for looking and please check out my other listings with more added every week.

Unfortunately there is no publication date on the front page but turning ahead a few pages I found the following reference written by the author, J. G. Bartholomew:

“But now, in 1902, almost the whole of Europe has been mapped”

I have included a photo of this text in the listing.

So from this reference I can safely conclude that atlas and all the maps were published in 1902.
