This is a design that has been many years in the making and was inspired by the fact that 2CV kit cars were too small inside for my long legs and were by definition very narrow. They looked to be prewar inspired and I wanted to evoke the classic era.
I had for some time been making and supplying my 2CV king pin to ball joint conversion and I thought it would be great to make a car for myself using a set of them. This is how this project was born and from there it progressed. I widened the overall track front and back by extending the suspension arms, driveshafts and steering arms and the track rod ends that I converted to sealed ball joints. I reconfigured the road springs by replacing the rear springs with front ones, adding a longer eye and changing the front pull rods for rear ones to level the car out at 150mm road clearance, to make it much more suitable for faster use. A final improvement would be a pair of Burton Shocks front and rear. I added an Ami anti-roll bar and safety steering column arrangement, lowered the 2CV seats and changed the seat frames to give headrests. I designed the body to be on a tubular steel centre body safety frame bolted on the good original pre rust-era chassis, and incorporated 2CV floors and two adjustable roll over hoops. I gave the door frames side impact protection bars.Over this I made an all aluminium alloy body that only needs further priming and painting now. I rebuilt the engine to good serviceable condition with re honed bores, new rings and a Kent Cams fast road cam. The gearbox is Dyane. The five wheels are from a Citroen GS but they are the same specification as Azur 2CV wheels. The tyres are Toyo 135 x 15. The exhaust has a free flow bigger bore inter pipe, but a  modified cross box silencer with a bigger bore outlet pipe is needed to go with it. I fabricated a prototype, feeding into a splitter box that I have made. Two torpedo silencers are there, the side exit stubs need to be sourced. Or you can run the two 2CV tail pipes out at the back. The head lights are circular 7" with integral side lights and the tail lights are cluster units from Car Builder Solutions catalogue. The front indicators are 2CV. There is a wrap around perspex windscreen and a smaller alloy leather rim steering wheel option.
I wrote to Swansea with pictures and they changed my registration document to a 2 seat 2CV sports car, thus confirming that this is a body conversion. I also have the chassis plate. It does seem that the car may be described as historic, in that it is 1981 X reg, with original chassis, engine, axles, suspension and steering parts.
I created this bodywork so that it can be assembled by others, and to this end, it has a well described set of assembly notes to go with it. Any Citroen 2CV enthusiast will immediately understand the way it is put together as it follows 2CV philosophy really quite closely in many ways and would be described as' Mod Con' by 2CVGB. If I find that I am able I should be glad to give occasional technical support if required, to help you bring the project to a satisfactory conclusion.

Sadly for me, I have reached an age where playing with cars has become somewhat impractical at last. I very much hope that someone will come to really like this project a lot, it should not take that long to finish off.

Thanks for looking!

This item is ready to be assembled according to the instructions that I shall make available to you. The component parts of the body such as front and rear body section to the side sills, for instance, will require bonding with Henkel Teroson 939 adhesive. Very easy in fact as these sections are located by self tapping screw fixings anyway or bolted into position just like a 2CV is. The chassis and suspension, engine and gearbox are straight 2CV assembly. In fact there is nothing in the kit that is not easy, and probably most rewarding to carry out. The images I show on this listing were taken as I checked that everything fitted together while I carried out production. Henkel Teroson 939 is just a cartridge adhesive widely used in the caravan and motor industry to bond metal surfaces and is available as well as a fireproof version. All are listed on eBay listings<>
