Vintage carved onyx mask pin brooch.

This was part of my Aunt's lifelong jewelry collection.
She traveled the world and collected jewelry everywhere she went.
She used to mix and match vintage and antique pins.
She would wear a few clustered together on a coat, hat vest or dress.
This one is from one of her trips to Mexico.
I cannot possibly keep or wear them all and there are so many beauties.
This pin is a carved piece of black onyx which looks like a Mayan or Aztec mask.
It is set in a bezel with lovely delicate silver filigree lace edging.
This is really a spectacular example of old Mexican jewelry.
It is signed Mexico (or Mexican) Silver on the back.
This probably dates from approximately 1950 - 1960s.
It measures 1 3/4" tall X 1 1/2" wide. A wonderful statement piece in good vintage condition.
I really hope all of these pins will be worn and enjoyed by someone again.
