Up for your consideration are the 2022 P & D Kennedy Half Dollars from a $100 US Mint Bag. One from the Denver Mint and one from the Philadelphia Mint.

The Kennedy Half Dollar has been issued by the US Mint since 1964 and was intended as a memorial to the assassinated 35th president of the United States John F. Kennedy.  It was authorized by Congress just over a month after his death by assassination on Nov 22, 1963.

The 1st Kennedy Half Dollars in 1964 that were issued for general circulation were 90% silver.

Over the years the composition of the coin has changed several times. The Kennedy half dollars, or 50 cent pieces, were minted using 40% silver from 1965 - 1970.  In 1971, silver was eliminated entirely from the Kennedy Half Dollar.

The latest 2022 Kennedy Half Dollars are 8.33% Nickel with the balance of Copper.

Production of Kennedy half dollars for general circulation ended in 2001, and from 2002 to 2020, Kennedy half dollars were struck to satisfy the demand from collectors, sold at a premium through the Mint.

In 2021, Kennedy half dollars began again to be produced for general circulation.
