I have for bids, an adult Martin Marion G620 split finger 1947 baseball glove.  Very rare, as most of his gloves are “G600” and stamped Marty Marion.  I found the G620 (only model leather laced at the bottom) in Joe Phillips’ “The Player Autograph Baseball Glove Finder.”  Martin was stamped on his early gloves.  Also has the older Rawlings patch (solid but shows surface wear) and Rawlings “shield” brass button. Glove is in excellent played with condition, especially for a glove 77 years old.  There are no rips, tears, or holes on the glove.  All leather lacing is original and in excellent condition as is the rolled leather piping.  All metal eyelets are secure and in excellent condition.  “Horsehide” is stamped on the inside palm, and Martin Marion on the pinky finger, and “Floating Heel” just below.  Nice early barrel web, with no “X” anchor, which was introduced in later years. Nice patina on glove.  Marty Marion played from 1940-’53, 11 years for the St. Louis Cardinals and 2 for the St. Louis Browns.  His nicknames were “Mr. Shortstop” and “The Octopus.”  He was voted the MVP in 1944 and selected 8 times to the All-Star Team.  Martin Marion’s picture comes with the glove for display.  Baseball is to show size comparison.  Thank you for looking.
