For sale is an antique Belgian tapestry from the 1920s.
It depicts an 18th century salon scene, possibly copied from a rococo style painting by Boucher.
The salon scene depicts numerous extravagantly dressed men and women participating in card games, readings and embroidery.
The background is rich with architectural detail, windows, curtains, furniture, paintings. There is a little dog in the foreground.
The back has a slot for hanging on a rod.
“Made in Belgium” is stitched in two places on the back.
The front is in very good vintage condition, with some wear that can be seen on the dog (see closeup photo).
The back has worn spots and stains on the hanging slots.
