 This is the synthetic lubricant that consistently outperforms all others currently available. It attains DOUBLE the performance in the metal-to-metal grind tests of other oils and sprays, and has incredible low and high-temperature characteristics, which is absolutely necessary for proper lubrication but completely lacking in petroleum-based oils. Petro-oils and sprays vs. synthetics:

Petroleum-based oils lack both the lubrication performance and oxidation stability of synthetics. Real oil is made up of a mixture of long and short chains of carbon and hydrogen atoms, and under certain conditions the short-chain molecules evaporate, and the unstable molecules oxidize and break down. This leaves a sticky residue which can actually “gum up” the device it was intending to lubricate. Conventional oils also contain varying amounts of impurities, such as sulfur, waxes, and unstable hydrocarbons which are left behind as residue deposits.

Spray lubricants such as silicone and WD-40 also dry up after a short amount of time because the carrier agent evaporates, and they eventually become gummy.

In contrast, synthetic oils are made using a process that re-arranges the structure so all the molecules are uniform in size, shape, and weight, an ideal phenomenon which does not occur in nature. While petroleum-based oils that are extracted from the ground must then be refined to attempt to minimize their shortcomings, synthetics are custom-designed to produce the ultimate lubricant, with inherent performance characteristics vastly superior to any petro-oil or spray.

Using synthetics after using petro-oils or sprays:

It is perfectly safe to begin using Liquid Bearings on any wind-up toys that you own immediately, even if you have been lubricating them with conventional oils or sprays for years or decades. It is fully compatible with all vintage and current oils and other lubricants, and will eventually flush away the residue of the evaporated oils and carrier agents over time. You will immediately notice that everything you lubricate with it will begin to move easier and more freely. It works equally well on items exposed to salt corrosion, restoring free movement in rusty wind-up toys and making them work like new!!

The bottle is made from LDPE and is very soft to use. The high quality stainless steel 18-gauge dispensing needle lets you lubricate your equipment precisely, without getting the oil on the rest of the unit. The needle utilizes the patented Luer Lock which is used on pharmaceutical supplies and is top quality. It has a leak-proof scabbard which covers the tip of the needle between uses.
