Please read & note:

This is a Rights holding DVD created & produced by me and is not factory made or sealed.

I strive to produce the best DVD's possible from the sometimes VERY old Public Domain material. Films that are public domain are unpreserved and not professionally re-mastered. I re-master all of my films myself to the best possible quality achievable.

My DVDs are not the quality of todays Modern DVDs or Bluray discs. If you are looking for this kind of quality then these discs are not for you.

All pictures are actual screen captures from the DVDs.

Please note this when purchasing, but also know that all of the films are very watchable.

To keep my prices as low as possible all my DVDs are delivered in plain paper DVD sleeves and the DVDs title will be labeled on the back of the DVD envelope. This way you can write the contents of the DVD on the DVD yourself if you want to. (See picture).

All of my DVD's come with a menu for easy film selection.

Total runtime of this DVD is 49 minutes.

Film 1: On Guard! The Story of SAGE (1956) COLOR Runtime 12 Minutes

This movie tells about the first computer based aerial surveillance system of the USA, which was realized by IBM in the early 50s. Also the 1st generation computer equipment of the famous B52s is shown. Also, the film shows the two channels of the computer being located on the same floor. SAGE was the physically largest computer ever built occupying 2 floors of the SAGE building at IBM and requiring over 1 million watts of power. This computer had over 56,000 electron tubes. SAGE is an important system in the history of computing hardware.

Film 2: Logic By Machine: The Computer And The Mind Of Man (1962) B&W Runtime 28 Minutes

This 1962 film introduces its audience to the computer revolution and the relationship between humankind and technology. It explains how the computer can process millions of bits of data in seconds and can handle as many arithmetic figures in one minute as a man can handle in a lifetime. Of course, as we know, we have come a long way in computer technology since the making of this film!

Film 3: The Information Machine (1958) COLOR Runtime 9 Minutes

Wonderfully trippy little cartoon on the function of computers. The color's a little muddy, but it explains the use of computers--in the service of man, not its master--as a tool for the control of information and work, design, and for simulating reality. Not sure what need this short really fulfills, but it's fun. Kind of like a Fractured Fairytale-style.
