Unique Primitive PAIR Rustic Replica 1 Gallon Big Mason Patent Canning Fruit Jars. Not direct reproductions, but modeled after genuine antique Mason's "Hero Cross" Patent Jar from the 1800s. Made from recycled glass which gives them a pleasant light apple green color, and they have a crudity rarely found in modern glass! The lids are recycled heavy gauge tin, coated with durable lead free lacquer, and fit the jar threads perfectly. The jars are new, with no cracks or damage of any kind.Most of these jars have smooth lips, sometimes finely ground, and have no base markings except for the bottle machine mark.(These jars are largely made by hand, and the process used is crude by modern standards-these gallon jars often have tiny chips on the lip. This is normal for these jars)
