This is a wonderful wall hanging comprised of a hardwood letterpress monotype (individual letters) drawer with about 55 zinc and copper etched cuts (printing dies) mounted on hardwood, and one half of a turn of the century lock up bar (the steel ribbed piece).  While the category indicates 1970+, which is when the piece was made, virtually all the individual pieces are 50 - 100+ years old.  The cuts are permanently mounted and covered with a protective coating.  The copper ones are particularly delicate looking and attractive, although it takes sharp eyes or a magnifying glass to appreciate their full detail. On some of the background, she has pasted advertisements from the 19th century.  All these items (except the advertisements) were actually used for printing in the last millennium and none are replicas.  The artist put two eyelets on the top of the piece for hanging, but you could change that to hang from the back, if you wish.

The art was made by local Southern California (Pico Rivera, and she's in the phone book, but doesn't use a computer) renaissance woman Nadya Orloff, Master Bookbinder, gifted amateur book restorer, carpenter, cabinet maker, art ceramicist (she has her own kiln), painter, sketch artist, etc.

She made this piece for a local businessman's print shop who now wishes to pass it on to others who can appreciate it.  These cuts alone, if sold separately , would go for $10 - $40 each, and these drawers typically go for $40.00 - $80.00 each.

FREE Domestic Economy Shipping.  Shipping weight about 18 pounds.

I will combine shipping.  This is a rugged piece, and will easily withstand the most brutal shipping, but it will be packaged carefully nonetheless.

This shipment will have insurance and signature confirmation included.

Returns accepted.  Uninsured shipments are at your risk.  I always have confirmation that I have shipped.

International shipping ok. The ebay and USPS delivery estimates are wildly optimistic. My experience is that international shipping will take 10 - 21+ days until delivery. Only Express Mail has a chance to meet the delivery estimate.   As this is one of my more expensive items, I remind you that customs duties will be assessed by YOUR home country, NOT the U.S.A., and CANNOT be paid in advance, by me or you.  Please contact your local postal authorities to get some idea how much these duties would be before bidding, so you don't get an unpleasant surprise later.

INSURANCE NOTE:  I try to insure every shipment of $20.00 or more by ebay's insurance.  Unfortunately, 2012 postal regulations forbid insurance on certain types of postal shipping services  to various countries.  Also, unfortunately, I now usually only find out whether an item can be insured when I go to make out the shipping label.  If insurance is incredibly important to you, email me before bidding and I will try to see if the least expensive shipping service can be insured.  An example of the international differences is that at this time, Canada apparently forbids insurance on all postal service levels except Express Mail Parcels.  In contrast, I have been able to insure First Class Parcels to both Argentina and Switzerland.  I do not personally insure anything.  UNINSURED SHIPMENTS ARE SENT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Local pickup ok on all my items. Contact me about payment details for local pickup.

Alternate methods of payment ok if no paypal account as indicated below.
