Application

This girdle fits Chevrolet and GM corporate produced cars and light trucks with 8.2", 8.5" & 8.6" ring gear and 10 Bolt rear ends, including the Grand National and 1/2 ton trucks. 4.25" Install Height. The Low Profile Series Girdle is also available in our eBay Store.

Note: Some 1999 and later vehicles may need METRIC mounting hardware. Original bolts will have an M8 or 10.9 head marking. Please let us know if you need metric hardware.

Description

TA Performance differential girdles are made from high strength 356-T6 cast aluminum and are precision CNC machined here in the USA. These girdles are specifically designed to strengthen the differential and add support to the bearing caps by means of the thick casting and reinforced crossbar. The crossbar contains two load bolts that apply pressure to the differential bearing caps to prevent bearing cap deflection under severe loads and acceleration. This greatly reduces or eliminates (in most cases) bearing cap fatigue and failure, one of the leading causes of broken rear ends. Each girdle is machined in-house using a 3 step CNC process which ensures the highest qualiy possible. Then each cover is hand deburred, inspected for the utmost in fit and finish, assembled, and packaged.

We offer a Bearing Cap Stud Kit, made exclusively for us by ARP, as a compliment to our Rear End Girdles. It replaces the four carrier bearing cap bolts with four Heavy Duty ARP studs, nuts, and washers which are considerably stronger than the stock bolts. Studs locate the caps more accurately and draw down on them more evenly. This further helps keep your ring gear assembly from flexing under heavy loads, and therefore helps strengthen your rear end by helping to prevent broken ring & pinion teeth. This stud kit can be installed without purchasing or installing a rear end girdle. However, it is often sold at the same time as the rear end girdle, because while the differential cover is already off, it is an opportune time to install these studs.

Returns/Warranty

Returns are accepted within 14 days and parts must be returned complete in original box with no damage or signs of installation. A restocking fee of up to 15% may be applied if the return is not complete or shows installation. Can be returned for money back or an exchange. Products are warrantied against manufacturing defects; damage caused by improper installation will not be covered.
