Zakk Wylde's Gibson Les Paul Custom Bullseye

Zakk Wylde names his Les Pauls after New York Yankee greats and his trademark bullseye custom painted black and antique white Gibson illustrated here is known as ‘The Grail’. Finding success in playing lead guitar with Ozzy Osbourne as well as in his own band, Black Label Society, Zakk made his debut with Ozzy in 1988 on album with ‘No Rest for the Wicked’.  Zakk quickly became a big name in the guitarist community due to his recognizable sound and style. The custom paint scheme came about when Zakk decided he needed something to distinguish himself visually from former Ozzy guitarist Randy Rhoads. Specification includes: Two active humbuckers, an EMG 85 in the neck position and an EMG 81 in the bridge position, with a volume and tone knob for each; carved maple top; gold plated hardware and an ebony fretboard with mother of pearl block inlays. Zakk was voted ‘Most Valuable Player’ for three successive years in the ‘Guitar World’ (US magazine) polls. In 2005, he was also voted ‘Best Metal Guitarist’, ‘Number 1 Shredder’ and received the ‘Metal Hammer’ (UK magazine) ‘Riff Lord’ and ‘Golden God’ awards.
