The Drip Irrigation System Header makes setting up a drip irrigation system extremely fast and easy! It attaches directly to a hose bib/garden valve or ¾” anti-siphon valve, and comes complete with a vacuum breaker, pint capacity proportioning fertilizer injector, ‘tee’ filter with 150 mesh stainless steel element, a 19 PSI preset pressure regulator, and ¾” PVC adaptor fittings. It takes a minimum flow rate of ½ GPM for the Add-It fertilizer injector to function. After you install the Drip Irrigation System Header, you can attach your drip irrigation system, porous pipe, or garden hose-end sprinkler/spray making it extremely versatile!

It’s a well known fact that a good filter is required for all drip irrigation systems. It prevents any particulate matter from entering the system, and possibly plugging the orifice of emitters, micro-sprays and sprinklers, or drip tape. All components in a drip system are pressure rated by the manufacturer from 10 to 30 PSI. Thus, a sturdy, accurate, pressure regulator is required. People have often asked, “With the advent of drip irrigation in order to conserve water, how do you fertilize the plant material?” After all, when installing a drip irrigation, you can no longer broadcast dry granular fertilizer and expect it to be leached into the soil by overhead sprinklers, where the plant’s root system can absorb the nutrients. Therefore, a fertilizer injector need be installed to dispense nutrients directly through the irrigation system.

The fertilizer injector accepts any totally water-soluble fertilizer on the market today, like Scotts Miracle-Gro® and Peters Professional®, when premixed with water. In addition, a wetting agent can be dispensed to help breakup compacted soils, compost tea to increase micro-organisms in the soil, micro-nutrients and Vitamin Institute’s SUPERthrive™ containing vitamins and hormones for more vigorous, healthier plants, and vitamin B-1 when transplanting trees and shrubs.

Plants absorb fertilizer more efficiently when it's in liquid form. Why? Because liquid fertilizers not only work faster than dry pellets or granules, they also move through the soil and are more readily available for absorption by your plants. Therefore less fertilizer is used, making it more environmentally friendly! Over many years, tests have concluded that applying liquid fertilizer on a regular basis is much more beneficial to a plant than being fed infrequently with a dry, granular form of fertilizer. Liquid fertilizer is absorbed far more easily by a plant’s root system, and there are no leftover residues or minerals that can, over a period of prolonged use, damage a plant.

The new Drip Irrigation System Header makes setting up a drip irrigation system easy, efficient and economical! All you have to do is connect a poly hose adaptor and supply line to the Drip Irrigation System Header. You can now fertilize your plants as you conserve water with your drip irrigation system because the Drip Irrigation System Header includes the prestigious ASAE - AE50 award-winning Add-It® proportioning fertilizer injector that was featured in Sunset magazine, seen on HGTV's Gardening by the Yard, and member tested and recommended by the National Home Gardening Club!
