Importance Of Insulation!
The building must have suitable insulation. And any un-insulated subfloors must be insulated with suitable insulation, before fitting the heating mats. This will not only increase the response rate of the heating. But also maintain the high efficiency of all our underfloor heating systems.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The Heating Elements
Living Heat underfloor heating cables have been specifically designed to be used under tiles and natural stone floors. They are all capable of being used as the primary heat source, (No other heating required).
A minimum of 70% floor coverage is recommended (@ 150w/m2 or above) for use as a primary heat source but in some instances, a larger area or wattage may be required.
All Living Heat kits are easy to lay and do not increase the floor height. The heating cables are just over 3mm thick so this allows the cable to be easily buried in the tile adhesive.
cables are simply laid out over a clean subfloor and held in place with cable spacers or a HC Decoupling mat.
Heating Under All Floor Coverings
One option for installing underfloor heating is to use self-levelling compounds. Self-levelling compounds are a type of cement-based mixture that can be applied to a subfloor to create a smooth and level surface. This is particularly useful when working with uneven or irregular subfloors.
To lay underfloor heating with self-levelling compounds, the first step is to prepare the subfloor by cleaning it thoroughly and removing any debris or contaminants. Next, the self-levelling compound is mixed according to the manufacturer's instructions and applied to the subfloor using a trowel or roller.
The compound is then smoothed out and levelled to create a smooth surface, Over the underfloor heating system.
Overall, laying underfloor heating with self-levelling compounds can be a bit more involved than other methods, but it can provide a smooth and level surface to be used under all floor coverings, which can lead to better heat distribution and energy efficiency.
It's Very Important To Insulate Your Floor
Insulation is an important aspect of underfloor heating systems as it helps to retain heat and improve energy efficiency. Without proper insulation, heat generated by the underfloor heating system will be lost through the floor, resulting in higher energy costs and a less effective heating system.
Insulation also helps to prevent heat loss through the ground, which can lead to increased energy consumption and higher costs.
Additionally, insulation can help to reduce the amount of time it takes for a room to warm up and improve the overall comfort level of the space.
Insulation materials such as foams, fibreglass, or mineral wool can be installed under the flooring to insulate the underfloor heating system. It is important to choose an insulation material that is specifically designed for use with underfloor heating systems as these materials have been tested and proven to work effectively with these systems.
