Heating panels. The FZ 100 has 4 powerful carbon heating panels. The cheap Ebay model has only 3 panels. The dimensions of the 4 heating panels on the FZ-100 are 37x67 cm giving a total heating panel area of 991 cm2 The dimensions of the 3 heating panels on the cheap model are 30x60, giving a total heating panel area of 540 cm2. (Just over half as much heating panel area of the FZ-100)
Power. The FZ-100 is a powerful 1000 watts unit. The cheap version is only 600 watts.
FIR levels. The carbon heating panels of the FZ-100 have been tested for FIR efficacy in the lab. The test reports show high levels of FIR (over 90% in the 5-15 micron range) The amount of FIR from the cheap version are unknown.
Suitable for MCS. The FZ-100 should be suitable for those with MCS multiple chemical sensitivities. The cheap version has an internal nylon lining which when heated by the panels can create fumes and smells.
CE. The FZ-100 has been certified to CE LVD and GS German Standards and has been manufactured to ISO Standards, International Standards Organization by an ISO factory. Ebay listings for the cheap model often display counterfeit CE certification, which are taken from google images and don't belong to that model of sauna.
Insulation. The silver fabric on the FZ-100 is significantly thicker and of a higher quality than on the cheap version, which is quite thin.
Removable collar. The latest model of the FZ-100 has a blue towelling collar which can be unzipped and washed separately. The neck area of portable saunas can become quickly soiled with perspiration. This removable collar makes it more hygienic than the cheaper model which doesn't have one. Each sauna is supplied with a spare FZ-100 towelling collar.
