Brian Setzer's 1959 Gretsch 6120

Originally released in 1955 with G branding and a neck featuring longhorns and cacti, Gretsch clearly aimed the 6120 hollow body directly at country enthusiasts and although endorsed by country virtuoso Chet Atkins, this model probably owes it's huge popularity to Brian Setzer. Purchased as a wreck in the 1970's, Brian reconstructed it then put it to great effect in the 1980's as the Stray Cats created a rockabilly revival on both sides of the Atlantic. This famous road-worn 6120 has become Brian's trademark, with Filter'tron pickups, two dice control knobs, missing tone switch and black cat, Lucky Lady and skull & crossbones decals. Aficionados will also recognise his black pickguard. Today, a wide range of 6120 models are available, including an assortment of Brian Setzer signature models and faithful reissues of 1950's classics.
