Cultivation
Sow the seeds Late winter early spring thinly on a good quality seed compost
Lightly cover the seeds and keep moist but not water logged
Germination can take anything between 2 - 3 weeks at min 19 Deg C
When large enough to handle transplant the seedlings into 3" pots - take care not to cover the small bulbs.
Plant out in spring in a rich well drained soil.
To obtain truly large onions a good dressing of general fertiliser such as growmore can be applied.
Adding well rotted organic matter to the soil prior to planting out also will increase crop size
Notes
This variety is sometimes supplied as thiram treated seed to help prevent fungal disease during germination giving better germination results

Germination - IMPORTANT
Although every effort is taken to ensure the quality of our seeds, packaging and delivery method it should be noted that the germination of seeds is very dependant on many factors including Light, Moisture levels, Temperature, Soil conditions, soil pests, and many other factors. Please ensure that the seeds you order are suitable for the conditions in which you wish to grow them as we cannot be held responsible for poor levels of germination. The Cultivation guide above is purely for guidelines. Local conditions such as soil temp will affect how well any seeds germinate so always check locally as to seed suitability
