What You Get
These sill end caps are sold as a pair, so you will receive a cap for both the left and right side.
Fitting and Usage
Fitting the Sill End Caps
Retro-fit to existing sill
Before you begin, prepare the area by removing any silicone and debris from the sill profile.
- Smooth and square the edges with fine grade sand paper
- Clean the sill with Solvent Cleaner and a clean dry cloth
- If the sills have joggles that wrap round the brickwork, it might be necessary to trim the End Cap. To do so, put the back edge of the end cap against the wall in line with the sill profile, and then mark on the inside of the end cap where the nose of the sill comes to. Using that measurement, transfer it to the front of the end cap and trim to the end cap to fit or measure from the front of sill to the wall and trim the end cap to fit.
- Apply medium viscosity Superglue to the end cap
- Apply superglue accelerator to the sill
- Quickly put the 2 parts together, concentrating on getting the front flush with the front of the sill then hold in place for 5-10 seconds
- Silicone the back edge to seal where the joint meets the wall.
Fit to new window cill
- Ideally have the sill machine cut to size when ordering to get the best cut edge for the cill
- If cutting the sill with a hand saw use a very fine toothed saw suitable for cutting uPVC
- If the sill has been cut with a hand saw, smooth and square the edges with fine grade sand paper
