Where more than one plate is shown from a state then you will get one of those plates at random. All plates have been used on a vehicle, and will show signs of this. Some are in nice condition, others are plates that are normally more expensive but which are in rough condition so are reduced in price due to scratches, dirt, dents, bends, rust, chips, etc. Some of the plates have a sort of musty oily smell, probably from years of storage, so would be better suited to display in a garage or similar rather than in your house.
