We recommend staying at the factory weight for your Glock to help reduce recoil. If you have a compensator or suppressor, we would recommend a weight or two lower than the factory. If you have ammo that is above normal grain for your firearm, we recommend getting a pound or two heavier than factory weight.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The GlockStore Heavy Tungsten Guide Rod is the most popular upgrade for Glock owners worldwide. It's an easy, drop in part that is 5x heavier than the factory plastic part and 3x heavier than our Stainless Steel Guide Rod.

You'll find that you will shoot faster and more accurately with our Tungsten Guide Rod installed. The increased weight of the rod helps reduce felt-recoil and muzzle flip enabling you to keep your sights aligned and shoot tighter groups in faster times.

A high quality, American made spring included and captured on the Tungsten Guide Rod as pictured. You simply drop it in and replace the factory plastic rod in seconds! We suggest you order the factory weight spring for most general shooting.

The Factory Weight Springs are designed to shoot and function with almost all commercially available ammunition.

If you are shooting a compensator or suppressor you would select a lighter weight spring to assist with cycling.

If you are shooting high velocity hand loaded ammunition you would select the heavier spring weight.

Advanced shooters know that to get the most out of their gun, shooting style, and ammunition combination, they need to test different spring weights for their guide rod assembly. You can actually "tune" the spring to your shooting cadence to allow you to shoot faster and more accurately because the gun action works with you and your ammunition. These are drop-in, high quality tungsten guide rods with captured springs in 5 different weights for your full-size guns and 4 different weights for the mid-size guns.

Senior citizens and those with less strength and physical disabilities will find that the lighter spring weights are much easier to manipulate and work the slide for loading and unloading procedure. For example, many of our customers with arthritis utilize a lighter spring weight.

On the other side of that, if you are shooting very heavy loads for hunting or self-defense, you may want to experiment with heavier spring weights.
