ABOUT US

Shindigs is the largest one stop party shop in the Hunter Region, with over 18,000 products available online and instore. Balloons, catering supplies, party decorations, fancy dress costumes and accessories, cake decorating supplies and much, much more. We're located in Newcastle, NSW and post all orders from this location. Shindigs was opened in 2003 by Mark and Kate Streeter, whom actively work in the business on a daily basis.
We enjoy seeing our customers return for their next big event and often find they have told their friends and family to come and visit us in store. Our aim is for "every customer to be a walking advertisement for Shindigs"!

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Our physical store, Shindigs is open 7 days a week and located in Lambton however our online customer service team are only available to answer your queries Monday – Friday, 9am -5:30pm (excluding public holidays)
  • Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of prices, specifications, images and information displayed on our eBay listings. All measurements specifications listed on our items are provided by either the supplier or taken by us. Please allow for slight variance due to manual measurements.
  • We endeavour to provide accurate colour representation on our items, however due to different screen resolutions, dye batches and natural material colour variations colours may vary slightly from images provided and from product to product. If colour matching is the upmost importance please message us and we will be happy to assist and provide further images.
  • If you require clarification or need any further specifications which are not listed in the title or description (in terms of colour, style, size, material etc) please contact us direct and we will assist in every way possible.
  • Our online stock inventory is updated nightly and is correct 99% of the time. However, as we are also an online retailer and have a physical store (located in Newcastle NSW) stock may sell in store or online before we are able to pick your order. Priority will be given to the order placed first. If we cannot provide an item we will contact you asap to discuss these details and either offer alternatives or work with you to get more stock in asap.
  • All costumes, fancy dress accessories and battery operated items are thoroughly checked prior to your order being packed. In the event there is damage, faulty or a discrepancy in the item you will be contacted asap. At our discretion and depending on the nature and severity of the above we may offer a discount and or partial refund on the item. If a suitable solution cannot be reached you can request to cancel the order and receive your refund in full
  • Please ensure that your address, postcode and suburb details are correct, once an order has been dispatched we cannot change these details. Please also ensure that all your contact information is correct and up to date. We may need to contact you regarding your order and in most cases cannot dispatch the order until we have heard back from you.

Postage

  • $7.95 for standard freight ($9.95 for standard freight if you are also purchasing a pinata or pinata related items.)
    • Shipping charges if you are purchasing wig/s ONLY are as follows: 
      •  $3.99 for standard postage, + $1.50 per additional wig
      • $5.59 for express postage, + $1.50 per additional wig
  • We deliver to addresses within Australia only. Unfortunately we are unable to accept international orders at this time.
  • Parcels are collected on weekday afternoons only. If you place your order between Friday afternoon and Sunday night it will not be dispatched until Monday.
  • Majority of orders are sent with Australia Post. Due to the varied nature of our items, on occasion and at our discretion we may send your parcel with an independent courier (generally Fastway or Couriers Please). This is generally due to the size and weight of the order and most commonly on orders containing confectionery and candles. Their delivery times are on par with Australia Post and we find them to be just as accurate.
  • Estimated delivery dates provided are to be used as a guide only and are to be counted from the day of dispatch, not from the day the order was placed.
  • Due to all couriers being a third party to us we cannot 100% guarantee their postage times and cannot be held responsible in the event that your items do not arrive by their estimated delivery. Minor delays are to be expected during the busier times of the year (i.e. Christmas).
  • Late deliveries are generally received within 3 business days of the estimated date. If your parcel has not arrived by the delivery estimate please contact us direct and we will send an enquiry to the courier on your behalf.
  • By default all orders placed are sent with the need of a signature upon delivery. If no one is home at the time of delivery the parcel will be taken to nearest post office, or for those sent with an independent courier, to the closest collection point (generally a Newsagency or similar but varies depending on the area). The courier will leave a missed delivery card if this is the case and you will need to go and collect your item ASAP.
  • You may specify for the parcel to be left at the property for you. In doing this you agree that neither Shindigs nor the courier can take responsibility for any lost or stolen parcels after it has been marked as delivered
  • Currently we are only offering Express Post through eBay on our wigs, however if you are in need of your items arriving urgently please contact us direct as we may still be able to help.
  • We have an eParcel contract with Australia Post where $7.95 is the minimum they charge us regardless of the size or nature of the order or where in Australia it is going to. Quite often we actually get charged more for larger orders or for orders going further afield in Australia; however we are happy to subsidise some of the cost to help our customers. Generally it seems that a lot of eBay customers only want to purchase one item, and because of the low cost of many of our items we can see why the shipping would appear steep in that instance.

Returns and Damage Claims

  • We have strict picking and packing process where two separate staff members must barcode scan each single item. Our packers will ensure adequate packing material (brown paper and/or bubble wrap) is used to ensure the correct and safe arrival of your goods.
  • In the rare circumstance that you find an item to be faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or missing upon delivery, we ask that you contact us immediately and provide photos of the item, the packaging and its contents.
  • The opportunity for damage to confectionery lines due to heat or rough handling through the transport process is outside of Shindigs control. As all couriers are a third party to us we cannot guarantee their level of postage and handling.  Consequently, Shindigs will not be held responsible for any damage to confectionery lines, including all Chocolates and Lollipops during the transport process.
  • We will not accept any claims after 5 days of the order being received under ANY circumstances.
  • Replacement of any items will depend upon the availability of that item at the time and will be sent in the same manner as the original order.
  • Where we agree to provide a refund rather than a replacement, the refund will be processed back to your PayPal account within 24 hours and will be for the value of the item only. We do not provide refunds on postage costs where we have already dispatched the parcel.
  • The decision to provide a replacement and/or a refund (full or partial) is at our discretion and will only be offered if the claim complies with our other terms and conditions.
