Several models had a lip piece on the lower triple tree on which to clamp the boot,

INSTALLATION NOTE:
For later models, simply insert a piece
of split rubber radiator hose
or nice black silicone hose inside,
and clamp or zip tie the
upper part of the boot to the fork tube.

an old carb manifold clamp works great too!

Depending on your fork leg size,
small bike gators may work
better for you-

someone has also suggested a breathing hole be can punched on
a lower pleat (face to rear) to allow venting of air.

We used these fork gaiters on many XS projects,
I love them on XS400 XS650 XS750 XS850 and XS1100 models!

EVEN LOOKS GREAT ON THE XS "SPECIAL" models
with longer fork tubes- check out my pics!

They are a little large at the top,
but you can fill the gap with a little bit of
silicone hose or rubber radiator hose.
