Vintage Pink German Remembrance Mugs and Plates with Gold Trim

This unusual set has 8 mugs and matching plates.  The mugs are about 2 1/4" high and are about a half teacup size.  The pink matching plates (and the mugs) are in good shape, with only a few minor signs of wear.  The plates' color varies a bit by shade, perhaps reflecting their age.  They  are marked "MADE IN GERMAN" on the bottom of the mugs.

They are from a recent estate sale, The family was from Germany and her grandmother would use them at Christmas for the grandchildren.
