HOW DOES A CHEMICAL PEEL WORK?
During a chemical peel, an acidic solution (Glycolic Acid) is painted on the skin, allowed to work for a few minutes, and rinsed off. Treated skin then flakes or peels off over several days.
WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE DURING A PEEL?
You may experience slight stinging or tingling while the glycolic acid is on the skin. The skin may turn pink, but will return to its normal color within 1 to 2 days. When used correctly there shouldn't be any redness, burning, or blistering. If you experience these symptoms seek medical treatment and discontinue use. This will happen when the product is not used correctly, you are using too high of glycolic acid strength, or if your skin is too sensitive to handle a chemical peel. It is normal for the skin to peel and appear flaky 1 to 2 days after use. That means the product is working. This is the dead skin shedding, allowing a healthy layer to come to the surface. If heavy peeling or slight scabbing occurs, apply a petroleum based product, or antibiotic ointment (Neosporin) to help speed healing.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR PEEL STRENGTH?
If you have never had a chemical peel before, or if you have sensitive skin, it is recommended that first time users start with the 20% or 30% glycolic acid solution and leave on the skin for only 1-2 minutes.

Test a tiny, small portion of your skin under the jaw bone to see how well your skin tolerates each percentage of glycolic acid peel. The 40% and 50% level of Glycolic Acid Chemical Peel is recommended for people who have used this product previously and know that their skin can tolerate this level of strength.

5 to 10% Supper Mild for the faint at heart. Productive but slow results 20% Extra Mild Peel for sensitive or fair skin and 1st time users. Your results will be slower 30% Mild Peel for 1st time users and sensitive skin 40% Medium Peel for someone that has had a peel before, doesn't have sensitive skin, use for minor skin flaws 50 to 70% not recommended for use on face.
