FOX FACTORY FORX SEAL KIT

Includes 2x 44x7.5mm oil seals (normally 9mm, but they are on 11-month backorder), plus o-rings for top and bottom caps.

Install level and just below snap ring groove, the gap below the seals is to aid in later removal.  To remove old seals, use a flat tip punch to tap in one side of the oil seal, this will cock the seal and make it easier to remove with a seal puller, use care not to damage the tube surface.

Refill with 5wt fork or shock fluid set at 6" level with forks collapsed, be sure to slowly stroke forks several times or more to remove air pockets from damper rod valving.  Set initial air pressure at 12 psi, adjust as needed.

For improved compression damping, consider modifying with Race Tech Gold Valves.

My background and rides: I currently compete in AHRMA motocross events on a 78 Honda CR250R with Fox Air Shoxs and Simons Forks, I've rode with this setup from 78 to 82 and since 98 when I got back into racing.  The frame and most of the motor is original paint, so it is not the prettiest bike on the block, but she is solid from top to bottom.  The bike was equipped with an original DG gold anodized swingarm, but has been replaced with an 80 arm due to stress cracks.  Moto-X Fox aluminum motor mount supports, chain guide, and fenders from Red Racer.  Spokes are Buchanan's.  A Magura side pull-short turn throttle, shorty De-Handler levers, mounted on a 29" bar.  The cylinder, ignition and cases are 79.  The carb is a 38 Mikuni and the reeds are Boyesen Pro Series.  I also have a 81 CR250R waterpumper and a 74 Yamaha MX100A that I compete on.
