Über die Heliogravur / about Photogravure / concernant Heliogravure

Als Heliogravüre (von griech. helios = Sonne), auch Heliogravur, Fotogravüre, Fotogravure, Photogravur, Photogravüre, Klicotypie oder Sonnendruck genannt, bezeichnet man ein fotografisches Edeldruckverfahren. Die Heliogravüre ist die Vorläufer-Technik des modernen Tiefdrucks, mit der Fotos und Illustrationen durch ein fotomechanisches Druckverfahren reproduziert werden können und mit dem sich echte Halbtöne darstellen lassen. Sie ist eine Weiterentwicklung des Aquatinta-Verfahrens. So wird die dafür erforderliche Druckplatte ähnlich wie die für die Aquatinta-Radierung hergestellt. (Quelle Wikipedia)

Photogravure is an intaglio printmaking or photo-mechanical process whereby a copper plate is coated with a light-sensitive gelatin tissue which had been exposed to a film positive, and then etched, resulting in a high quality intaglio print that can reproduce the detail and continuous tones of a photograph.(out of Wikipedia)
