Oak Internal Ledged Solid Door - Bead & Butt Profile Boards

These beautiful internal solid oak ledged doors are made from carefully selected French oak, and are manufactured in our factory in Sheffield.  These doors are made in a beautiful bead and butt style profile board, we also have V groove available, please see our other listings or give our sales office a call on 0114 247 4917.

We can supply the doors in a range of timber grade and sizes, including custom sizes at fixed prices.

Every door is handmade and checked prior to despatch.  Ledges are glued, pinned and then hydraulically pressed on.  This process makes our door by far the strongest and most durable available in the UK.

Sizes

These oak ledged doors are manufactured to a standard 40mm thickness.  Customers can choose from 4 standard door sizes

2'0'' (610mm) x 6'6" (1981mm) 

2'3'' (686mm)  x 6'6" (1981mm) 

2'6'' (762mm)  x 6'6" (1981mm)  

2'9'' (838mm) x 6'6" (1981mm)

If a non standard size is needed, for a small fixed additional charge we can also make them to whatever size you require.  Select the appropriate option below for either; 

a custom door size under 2'9" x 6'6" (in both dimensions) 

or a custom door over size 2'9" x 6'6".  

Note: We'll make oversized doors for the quoted price up to a maximum size of 2100 x 950. If you need something even larger than that, please give our sales team a call and we'll quote accordingly

Ledges are machined to 150mm wide.

Bracing Pack

You can order the door with the optional bracing pack, which allows you to convert the door to a ledged and braced format.  

Braces are the diagonal pieces of timber, which were fitted in the past to provide extra support to the doors.  With modern construction methods, these are not now structurally required but some customers prefer the look.  The pack is supplied as loose braces to be fitted on site.  This allows you to fit them in either orientation, ideal if you are matching into existing doors.

Hardware

We also offer our own superb ironmongery set, made in hand forged steel in an antiqued and beeswax finish. The kit comprises 2 18" strap hinges, specially designed with strengthened hinge assemblies to take the weight of the doors, plus a substantial thumblatch complete with locking pin. 

If you wish to select the beeswax ironmongery set on your options above, you will also receive a solid oak lock block, which you can fit your thumb latch on, as shown on the door images above - please note, the lock block is only supplied if you order the beeswax ironmongery set or bracing pack.

Prefinishing Option

We can also pre-finish your door for you if you prefer. If you select this option, we will apply the finish of your choice from our wide range. All of our finishes use a hardwax oil top coat, which creates a wonderful subtle finish to the oak whilst protecting the timber. We can finish your new Ledged door in a Traditional Clear hardwax oil or you can choose from one of our colour tones.

Please note that a prefinished door is considered a customised door and cannot be returned. If you are unsure about the finish you prefer then we recommend ordering a sample or ordering your door unfinished for on-site finishing.Please note - to fit into our spray facility, the door is hung onto an overhead track meaning the door will contain two small screw holes on the side of the door. Please be aware of this before ordering.

The amount of boards in each door is dependent on the width of your door. We only use vertical boards machined from 6" and 7" wide timber.  We do not use the cheaper 5" wide boards found in some other doors.  Please contact us for more details if you would like to know what each door size is made up from.
