1984 North Korea DPRK Postcard Set - West Coast City of Nampo Spanish

A fantastic retro set of tourist postcards from North Korea depicting the city of Nampo.  The text of this item is in Spanish.

This item is EXTREMELY rare and almost certainly one of the last of it's kind.  It was purchased in the small souvenir and book shops scattered throughout the hotels and tourist attractions of the DPRK.  Shops of this kind are generally run as independent small businesses, and so the purchase of souvenirs like these help local entrepreneurs supplant their limited income.

This item is part of a larger collection of North Korean tourist publications, souvenirs and artifacts collected during 100 days on the tourist circuit in North Korea.  These retro curios and socialist bric-a-brac illuminate the era from 1945 until the fall of the Soviet Union when the DPRK was almost entirely closed to Western visitors.

Sadly, artifacts from this period are mostly lost to history.
