Antique 12.5" FG French Bisque Doll Puppet Toy Doll wood arms and legs

This antique male doll is dressed as a Jester is a simple type of puppet popular with children for decades, especially in Europe.

The doll is the original presentation with original wire coming out of the bisque head. The puppeteer would hold the wire, moving the doll about the stage. He/she is on his original wood and wire articulated body. The arms and legs are carved wood.

The head is French bisque with painted features including blue eyes with heavy upper black eyeliner, closed mouth in smiling expression, and upper and lower painted eyelashes, and original kid skin wig. Unmarked with characteristics of F.G, circa 1890.
No damage and no repair.

He has been costumed in a green and white outfit of antique silk with red bodice and star in the center. He has a matching hat of the same colors that is adorned with Dresden stars all the way around.
Clean and from a smoke free environment.
