This is an original G.W. BROMLEY atlas map of Manhattan that includes Hell's Kitchen, Penn Station, Chelsea Piers and the Garment District. This map is dated 1908 and is on linen.  Measures 22x32.  In Ex condition.

MAP/PLATE 18: covers from W. 36th St. in the north to W. 25th St. in the south and from 8th Ave. to the Hudson River.

Each color represents the type of structure. Yellow is wood, pink is brick, blue is iron and brown is stone. The X's through the buildings indicate it is a garage.  Brown indicates stone structures. A circle with a "t" indicates a  fire hydrant.  The map also indicates the names of the original deed holders and the double green lines the original streets of New York before the grid system came in effect!
