5 STAGE VYAIR REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER FILTER

The RO-1UP is an unpumped under-sink water filtration system that will remove impurities from your drinking water. The unit includes a plastic tank and all fittings needed to install the unit, including an automatic shut-off valve, that will stop the flow of water when your tank is full. The Unit includes a 10" GAC Carbon filter. 10" Block Carbon Filter, a 10" 5 micron PP Filter a T33 Carbon Post Filter for Taste and Odour, and a 50GPD Vontron Membrane.

Reverse Osmosis alongside the correct carbon filtration process can remove chemicals from your water, such as chlorine and chloramine as well as most other total dissolved solids that normally come out of your tap. This process also removes any odours and tastes that have been caused by contaminants and chemicals.

This Reverse Osmosis Water Filter, like all unpumped reverse osmosis water filters, relies on you having a strong mains water pressure. Please do not buy this item if you do not have a good water pressure, other pumped systems are more suitable. This unit operates best as input water pressures of between 30-60psi (2-4 Bar). We would suggest that this is not suitable for use with gravity fed unpumped cold water system (where the water is stored in the loft). Normal UK water pressure should be from around 2 bar and above.

*There are a number of factors that affect the output of reverse osmosis water filters, such as input water pressure, TDS of input water, bacterial film on RO membranes if they are not changed regularly and water temperature, especially in winter months. Based on UK water conditions, you can expect to get aproximately 50% of the membrane's rated capacity.

Dependent upon usage of the unit the 4 cartridge filters will need changing every 6 months, the membrane filter requires changing at approximately 18-36 months. The life of the Reverse Osmosis Membrane, is affected by the following factors, Bacterial Contamination (not changing pre-filters often enough), Chlorine Contamination of the membrane, (again by not changing pre-filters often enough) and the worst culprit, Hard Water.

We are regularly asked why we say our membranes may need changing at 18 months or less, when other sellers quote their membranes will last 3 years. We call it honest genuine expectations, our membranes are made to the same and in many cases higher specification than reverse osmosis membranes from other manufacturers. If you have very soft water or using the RO system on the output of a domestic water softener then yes you can expect a life of around 3 years. If used with a rainwater harvesting system you could expect longer as you do not have a Chlorine loading in the water you are filtering.
