Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin composed of different forms such as Ergocalciferol (D2) and Cholecalciferol (D3). The D2-Cholecalciferol however shows the most beneficial properties to the human body. Vitamin D is produced in the skin naturally and can be stored in the liver. However we can also consume it in our diet, food sources for the Vitamin include cod liver oil, animal liver and oily fish. Vitamin D helps in the maintenance of the Calcium levels in the bone and blood. Having enough Vitamin D in the body contributes to dental health, muscle contraction and bone health. It also helps in improving the immune system and inflammatory responses of the body. Examples of food sources include eggs, cheese, sardines, salmon and sunflower seeds.
Vitamin K is a fat-soluble Vitamin also known as Menaquinone and is stored in the liver. Vitamin K comes in different forms ranging from MK1-9 but the most popular ones are MK4, MK7 and MK9. The number found after the MK, refers to the chemical chain that stems from the quinone ring structure. The higher the number, the longer chain and lifespan of the vitamin. Vitamin K is often found in many food sources such as natto beans, dairy, spinach, egg yogurts and green leafy vegetables. Vitamin K2 helps promote normal blood clotting and Calcium absorption. It also helps increase Calcium absorption to promote strong and healthy teeth, bones and muscle contraction.
Our Vitamin D3 and K2 Tablets come in 6mm in manageable sizes and in two strengths 1000IU and 5000IU to suit our client's needs. Please note this product is not suitable for Vegetarians or Vegans.
