This is an Alpa Model 8 Film SLR Camera. This camera is unbelievably rare with fewer than 200-300 made. This is very similar to the Model 8b that has the advance lever added, however this one is so rare that many reference books and websites do not even have a photo of one.

This particular camera is in beautiful cosmetic condition with lite signs of use and age. There is a scratch on top of the finder and lite wear in various other places on the camera.

The viewfinder is fully usable but is not 100% clear and bright. It is only slightly dimmer than perfect. 

 The rangefinder on the left side of the camera is very dim and not very usable at all. 

The lenses are very clean and clear for their age, showing lite/some dust and zero signs of haze or fungus. The aperture blades are in great shape and not oily. The aperture ring and focus ring are easy to turn without issues.

The shutter speeds seem to be accurate but have not been film tested. The Shutter speed dial is also the film advance. Changing shutter speeds is easy and smooth.

The inside of the camera is very clean. The shutter curtain is in great condition and operates swiftly and smoothly. 

There is an issue with the advance mechanism inside. It starts to get very tight and will rip through the sprocket holes about 6 frames in. We have not attempted service to fix this. 

The self timer is in good working order.

The case has normal wear and creases from age and use.

How accurate are your shutter counts?

We check shutter count when we make an item live on eBay. Periodically we made handle the camera and fire the shutter while answering questions or cleaning it. This may cause the shutter count to be off by a few clicks but never by any major margin.

Do I need to be home when my package arrives?

For item over $100.00 we require signature confirmation. This can be from any adult at the residence as per UPSP standards.
