Games Load Faster on External Drives

It may seem counter-intuitive, but running your Xbox One games from an external drive will actually increase there performance 

• USB 3.0 is used by the external drive is a faster connection than the SATA II used by the internal drive.
• The external drive doesn’t have to handle all the other system functionality, like running multiple applications or other Xbox features, and thus has more resources to dedicate to running games.

The System Integrates Them Nicely

You might think of having an external hard drive as a chore, figuring it entails juggling games back and forth or having to explicitly enable it. In reality, using one with your Xbox couldn’t be simpler. Just plug in your drive, format it (you’ll only be able to use this drive with your XBOX ONE), and it essentially adds to your available storage.

When you manage your game data, you’ll be able to filter by games on the internal/external drive, and can even set the external as your default for new games (a good idea, per the performance benefits above). The system will roll everything into one and let you know how much total space is left. There really aren’t any drawbacks!

Here's how to connect the external HDD.

1. Connect the drive to either one of the USB 3.0 ports on the front of the PS4.  You’ll see a message on the screen saying the USB device is not  supported because the drive hasn’t been formatted to work with the  console.
2. Under Settings, go to Devices.
3. Under Devices, go to USB Storage Devices.
4. Under USB Storage Devices, press Format as Extended Storage.

That’s all there is to it.

The external HDD will now show up as Extended Storage under Storage (which  is located in Settings). The external drive is set as the default  destination for any game you purchase or download from your Library. You can change this if you wish to store game downloads on the PS4’s  internal drive.

Move to Extended Storage

Games are easily moved from the internal to the external drive. Press the  Options button while you’re in Storage and an option to move to extended storage will appear. Movement is fairly slow so you might want to run a test with a small game before you launch a move for everything you want to get off your internal drive. Wherever a game is stored, save files,  screenshots and video clips are stored on the internal drive.

If you disconnect the external drive while the PS4 is powered on, data  loss or corruption may occur. To disconnect the external drive go  to [Settings] > [Devices] > [USB Storage Devices] and press Stop  Using This Extended Storage.

Delivery to UK mainland addresses and the isle of man is not free and costs  money to send items as the post office don't offer a free service to us  unfortunately so we can't offer it to you  - standard 1-5 day delivery  service. What do I do if I have not received my delivery?
Please open an item not received case with Ebay or contact us through Ebay  messages by click on the order and then contact seller to tell us you  have not received it and we will provide a tracking number and will  locate the parcel.

What happens if I'm not at home to accept delivery?
If you are not available to sign for your delivery, the courier or postman will leave a card to advise that delivery has been attempted. To  re-arrange delivery or arrange to collect the parcel please follow the  instructions on the card.
