Queen Ruby, a silly queen and a hermit king come to join their separate kingdoms into one.

Queen Ruby loves to dress up when she takes carriage rides through her kingdom. One day she has an idea - why not make a crown of roses for her hair? The effect is lovely until stinging bees descend upon her sweet smelling wreath. In a fury, she orders the guards to capture the bees and toss them over the border, into the land of the Hermit King Harry. But the next week, wearing a garland of trumpet flowers, the queen is besieged by hummingbirds, who meet the same fate as the bees. And so it goes, until there are no birds or bees in the kingdom, and her people seem to be growing more and more unhappy. What's a young queen to do?
