Presenting a stunning Iridescent Australian Studio art glass perfume bottle,
expertly hand crafted and signed by the renowned glass artist Richard Morrell.
This exquisite piece has been spectacularly coloured with a rich
and lustrous iridescent finish. The striking iridescent finish glistens with
stunning rainbow tones which appear to change as light dances over the
curved surface of the glass. Magnificent shades of electric blue, purple, green,
pink and gold can be seen throughout the dazzling silvery iridescence.
The iridescent finish is most thick and intense around the central body
of the bottle where it adds an appealing texture which is both wonderfully
tactile and magnificently accentuates the sparkle of the glass.
This elegantly shaped piece has a perfectly proportioned form with a
rounded, bulbous shaped body leading to a squat neck and lovely wide flared
rim. The rounded body wonderfully flaunts the exquisite iridescent finish, while
the rich cobalt blue flared rim adds a beautiful contrast. The original sparkling
clear glass spire topped stopper perfectly completes this magical piece.
We have had great pleasure in offering a fine and varied assortment of
Richard Morrell pieces over the years, however, this is one of only three iridescent
examples we have ever offered for sale (including an additional iridescent perfume
bottle we also currently have listed)! Iridescent pieces by this artist are extremely
rare and desirable. This is a fabulous gallery quality example of contemporary
Australian Studio art glass expertly executed by a master glass artist.
This fabulous piece is presented in excellent condition
with no chips, cracks or repairs. This fine example has been very
well cared for as a display item and presents spectacularly.
This impressive piece stands approx 160mms tall from the
base to the top of the stopper. The bottle stands approx 85mms
tall excluding the stopper and measures 80mms in diameter.
This exceptional example is beautifully signed with an
engraved signature to the base by the artist "Morrell".
Richard Morrell, originally from London, has been living
and working in Australia since 1979. He studied his Masters
in Glass in Melbourne, and now works from his studio
in Castlemaine, Victoria. Richard is a highly respected glass
artist on an International level, having exhibited throughout
Australia, and in the US, Japan and Europe. His works
feature in public & private collections around the world.
